Excellent product. Filtering works wonderfully, no more ash blowing in the room. This is the ultimate vac for cleaning pellet stove ash. You do need to dump the ash out of the can when you notice sucking power diminishing.

Ok so far
Not sure about this vacuum. So far no issues, but I have doubts the motor will hold up. It get very hot to the touch after just seconds of sweeping cold ash even when the filter is freshly cleaned. Does a good job keeping the dust in. Suction is good, nothing to write home about, but adequate. Attachments are functional and the overall quality seems good. The heat of the motor is my main concern. The manufacturers sticker is even peeling off from the heat...we will see how long it lasts. Hopefully I’m wrong.Update 4/21/20: We have gotten through the winter with weekly stove cleanings and the vacuum is still working. Motor still gets hot but it has functioned without issue. Upgrading from 3 to 4 stars.

DO NOT BUY! Doesn't even last a single stove cleaning!
I bought this earlier this summer, and I finally just got the chance to use it for the first time today on my Pellet Stove. For the first 5 minutes, it worked great. Sucking power was great. However, 5 minutes after using it it stopped sucking much. I was confused, there is no way it could already be full. So I emptied it, and yeah, it wasn't full at all. But both the outer and inner filter were always chock full. I don't know it could have already had the inner filter covered. I cleaned both. Put back together and it sucked "ok", still not as good as when I first starting using. By the time I was done cleaning my stove, it already was not sucking well again. Almost not picking anything up. Also the top of the unit was VERY hot. This is designed for ash, but can't even last 1 cleaning. For the record, the Pellet stove had been off for almost 12 hours, so the stove and ash was cold. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS VACUUM TO ANYONE. Unfortunately, since I bought it in the summer before I needed to clean my stove, it is outside the return window, but I would definitely return it if I had the option. Save your money on a better brand.

Great product so far
The vacuum arrived on time. I only used it once but am impressed with the quality. We used a wet/dry vac before - what were we thinking! It came with a flex hose tool that was not included in parts list. It should prove to be an invaluable tool to help me clean inside the ash doors of my pellet stove. Very glad I purchased this product.

Overheated Easily
I use this vacuum cleaner weekly to clean my pellet stove. For the most part, it works okay. The vacuum has enough power to suck the ashes; the canister is sealed tightly so no dust escapes during vacuuming; the filter and hose are heat-resistant so they can handle warm ashes. The first time I used it, I thought I had found a perfect partner in ash cleaning--until he quit while I was still chasing after the ashes that were hiding in plain sight. My old partner--a cheap shop vac that cost less than half of the cost of this ash vacuum cleaner--never got overheated and shut himself off before we finish the job. Since I am not ready to find a new partner, for several months now I have had to catch those ashes while at the same time making sure that my partner does not get overheated and has to take a nap in the middle of a job for at least half an hour. It's very annoying when that happens.Another annoying thing about this vacuum cleaner is that some ashes always get stuck in the hose. After you turn off the machine, when you lift the hose with the opening facing down, some ashes will come pouring out of it. So before you wrap up the work, you need to remember to let the machine run, lift the hose and hold it vertically with the opening facing up for several minutes so all the ashes that remain in the hose will be sucked into the chamber.I do like the fact that the power cable can be coiled around the handle of the canister, which makes it neat and tidy. Unfortunately, no such logical storage option for the hose and other accessories. Trying to coil the hose around the canister or to find a place on the vacuum cleaner to attach the brush and other accessories is an exercise in futility. So all in all, an adequate but annoying partner for ash cleaning.
