For professional use and very acurate.
A very handy and versatile tool made for professional use especially in building sector where everything must be accurate and precise.Working for ten years in construction I always finded difficult to get straight lines for building bricks on a considerable height.Practically a two millimetres miss reading at the base for a height of 12 meters it will be out of position up to 5cm which is a lot. This tool is not only giving from point to point the distance by using the laser but can calculate the volume as well and everything being displayed in real time saver on the LCD screen. The two green side laser allows you to mark required distances and the red beam can measure up to 100m and that will probably be more than enough to cover a large building from side to side.USB rechargeable provided with a 2600 mAh battery, replaceable measuring tape and everything nicely packed in a storage case. From my experience the battery it will probably hold for lots of use and at least 4,5 years so somehow it’s prematurely to think about replacing it,in some occasions if recharged correctly up to 10 years.I don’t find this tool expensive considering the practicality and its versatility and personally I think that it is a must for a professional builder.

Great cost but tremendous
The tape measure has a number of functions which the reading of the small information booklet gives clear instructions. The tape comes with 1 battery, I was a little concerned that should this battery become defection this rather expensive tape measure would be useless. Contacting the manufacturers they outlined that the Samsung SB-L160 battery (Available from Amazon) is a direct replacement. The supplied battery comes with a built in micro USB connector. You will need to purchase the battery charger for the new battery should you decide to buy another one. I would recommend this tape measure apart from the price it is a very accurate easy to use tape. Possibly a little expensive for home use but well worth it...

Not easy to get to grips with
Once you get to grips with all the functions, it is great

Nice n fancy but hoodwinked
Inaccurate measurements every time, you are taught to measure twice before cutting but this contraption makes it impossible to measure twice. Had to use conventional tape measure instead.

One for the surveyor
First off ……wow what a bit of kit! I must admit I’m a bit of a sucker for a gadget with a laser in it! But it’s not biasing my review so rest easy! Anyway this is a product that oozes quality from the offset. The box it arrives in hints that you’re buying something special. Open up and inside is a hardshell carry case with a vacuum formed interior to fit the unit in snug and the (essential) instruction booklet as this is one of those products that you will need to read the instructions to make full use of it. For some reason the battery used is more commonly found on camcorders being the hump pack type but with a twist as it also has a USB port to charge the battery directly without the need of a separate charger unit -good way to save cost and bulk but might be troublesome when replacing. The battery is easy enough to buy in its generic form but this doesn’t contain a built in USB port for charging so would need to buy a battery charger for it. Hopefully the manufacturer will be making the battery available as a spare to buy just like the tape module is. Whilst on the subject of the battery is is held in by a cover fixed down with a screw and not chargeable whilst in the unit. Not a deal breaker but a pain nonetheless and could be better done.Using this its evident you really need to be doing more than just straight forward measurements to justify the price given you can get a basic combined tape measure and laser measure unit for less than 1/4 the price of this albeit without the extra bells and whistles. The projected markup laser is a nice idea especially for those times when you measure up to something that is off to one side or can’t get onto directly. We are having a driveway built at the moment by a local builder and when i showed this to him to see what a proper tradesman thought (as opposed to a novice DIYer like me!) and the first words out of his mouth was that looks like something a surveyor would use. I must say it is most likely the use given the price and nature of the unit. The home DIYer with lots of money wold also be a likely customer.Overall its got plenty of uses and adding the measure to smartlife app was easy and instant showing up as soon as i opened the app. The ability to draw on a photo and mark up dimensions inserted directly from the measure or via a text box is great for visual references and plans. The price is going to put this out the range of the casual diy person and i would say its not one for the job site as its most likely going to get damaged or go Walkies by the nature of the job but for other users it’s incredibly versatile and handy
