Q: Would this be helpful to keep claws short on budgies?

It's quite soft so I don't think so. It provides entertainment for the budgies, they enjoy pecking at it but I don't think it would wear claws down.

Q: hello, am just wondering would the cork be good for canaries and zebra finches?

Hi I have a canary and have the cork platforms (similar item but a bit bigger and flatter). My canary doesn't nibble them, I think soft billed birds aren't really chewers, but she often sits on it. It's good to have different textures and widths of perches, to help keep their feet healthy. Cork is also a good insulator, so it's a nice place for a bird to perch if feeling cold or a bit unwell.
