Product Description Recorded in the spring of 2003, Tomorrow's Blues features Colosseum regulars Jon Hiseman, Dave Greenslade Chris Farlowe, Dick Heckstall-Smith and Clem Clempson. Tomorrow's Blues is the band's second studio album after their 1994 reunion and reflects the band more as they are today than at any other period of Colosseum. If anything the sound is even more polished and structured as ever. Also this was to be the last studio album featuring Sax player Dick Heckstall-Smith who sadly passed away a year later in 2004. Review 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful Tomorrow's Blues, Colosseum - A gladiatorial triumph By Victor HALL OF FAMETOP 100 REVIEWER on 15 Dec. 2010 Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase Having reformed in 1997, after a 27 year hiatus, to record the excellent `Bread and Circuses' album it was another 6 years before we had another studio release from the classic Colosseum line up. But it was worth the wait! Following their tradition of loose limbed jazzy rock, this is a series of excellent tracks that sweep you along with excellent musicianship, and a sublime soulful vocal from the inimitable Chris Farlowe. There are also complex rhythms, fascinating bass lines, soulful organ and searing electric guitars, all of which combine to give a quite rocky sound, perhaps a little harder than some of their earlier stuff, with an air of improvisation and experimentalism about it and a distinctly British flavour all round. Similar in feel to some of Keef Hartley's work. A truly excellent album, highly recommended to all fans of British prog rockers such as Blodwyn Pig, Jethro Tull, Keef Hartley etc. --16 of 16 people found the following review helpful Much more like it.... By Mark Shackelford TOP 1000 REVIEWER on 31 July 2007 Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase After the somewhat disappointing "Bread and Circuses" comes a delightful slice of "post-modern" Colosseum [whatever that means, Ed.] This is FUN! Lots of Blues/Rock/Jazz tunes, with brilliant solos from the wonderful (and sadly missed) Dick Heckstall-Smith on sax and glorious guitar from Mr. Clempson. Chris Farlowe is in excellent voice (still amazing after all these years - I wonder what he lubricates it with?). Some great swathes of sound from Dave Greenslades organ and piano, the HUGE bass lines bubbling along with every track from Mark Clarke - and, of course, the ONE and ONLY Jon Hiseman on hitting-things very fast. Not the extended masterpiece of the Valentyne Suite, but definitely Colosseum in full flight. On a par with the glory days of Solid Bond and other R'n'B from the early '60s. Great driving music - and a great album, with the songs all fitting together - not a duff track. --5 of 5 people found the following review helpful Blues Done Right 28 Mar. 2006 By Kid Byron - Published on .com Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase This is a fantastic CD which features a group of very talented musicians. It is a blues-rock CD with heavy emphasis on the chops of all of the members of the band which features Dave Greenslade and Dick Hexstall-Smith. Not a weak cut can be found on this recording. If you like great blues-rock and phenomenal musicianship buy this CD without hesitation. --

Maturity helps beauty
There passe twenty or more years between Colosseum's first incarnation and this phase of their art. If possible, this album, as well as its predecessor, Bread and Circuses, represent a step further in their craft. We findmiddle-aged men who clearly restrained their wildnessness as youngsters and are now masters on their instruments. Chris Farlowe itselfed is much more contained, learned how to control his voice and his vibratto and sings much better. The compositions are well structured and inspired. All coverde up with the simplicity which is undispensable to beauty. One of the best second efforts I have ever seen. Highly recommended.

Buy it since it is available.
The Best listening quality we can have of them. May be the music is not as good as in the old milestones like Valentyne Suite or Daughter of Time (unfortunately fake hi-fi recording) but the combination of musical smartness and technical capabilities of theese Guys is wonderful. I have a Krell-Martin Logan hifi system, If you like them pls buy also the dvd of the reunion concert of Kohln.
