Great Value for sandy soil no till farming
This unit is cheap! Like way cheap. If you’ve priced seeders you know that this is a fraction of the cost of its nearest competitors. I’ve owned mine for 2 years, I’ve paired it up with a 15hp 2WD gray model Kubota. Is it cheaply built, yes, but if you farm in sandy/loamy soils, this unit will do fine.It definitely requires tinkering, there will be frustration. When you get it dialed in, you won’t have to mess with it.I’ve planted about 15 acres of summer season and winter season forage crops for rotational cow/sheep grazing, with this rig. We just graze for the season and flail mow the previous seasons crop at end of season and use this unit to seed right into the residual. If you disk or till prior, this unit should do fine as long as it’s not too rocky. I could see rocks playing havoc with this, it’s not what I’d refer to as sturdy.I’m in coastal Alabama, and I could not be happier. I’m tempted to pick up a second one to increase our capabilities.Lessons learned:slow down, every time I’m tempted to speed up my seeding, stuff goes wrong.Lower the implement only when moving forward.Frequently verify the chain drives are spinning, this is what drops the seed. If you don’t check you may seed a few rows without actually dropping seed…super frustrating.Terminate your previous season crop, especially stemmy or woody crops like sun hemp. Flail works best because it really mulches down the stems. One season we just tried crimping the residual and the stems got wrapped into the drive cogs and caused the chain to jump. Not fun digging wrapped sun hemp stems out of drive cogs. You’ll love and hate this seeder, but once you develop patience, operations will be consistent and rewarding. This seeder has definitely proven to provide the best value for its cost long term.Sure you’ll find yourself using duct tape, yes it’s going to flake its paint, yes it’s going to rust, and tinkering with it and tuning it is just part of the experience, but you won’t regret this purchase.Don’t be afraid of it, just buy it.Happy planting

tighten all the nuts and bolts before use
Used this on my grass seed research farm for drilling small breeder seed blocks of new grass seed varieties. Set it up for 12" rows with charcoal solution sprayed over each row. Standard practice in the grass seed industry. Worked extremely well for what I needed. Just make sure you go through all of the nuts and bolts and tighten them up.....I even used some lock-tight on critical ones. Feeders are ground driven. I also reset all of the feeder cogs so that they were all at exactly the same opening. This is a decent unit for small acreage and has both seed and fertilizer boxes. Works well on 3 pt hitch

Know what your getting
You have to understand what you are getting. This is a grain drill not seeder. It is set up to plant larger grains like oats, wheat, beans etc. The seeding mechanism is made of plastic and has a large depth. You can calibrate it to get the seeding rate you want but it is not highly accurate, but good enough. It is not designed to plant smaller seeds like clover or barassica alone. You have to apply blended seed, mix your smaller seeds with oats or wheat and set up your planting in that way. I have used an agricultural grain drill with a small seed box, this unit does not have that. This unit is made in China, you need to check the bolts and do adjustments. Mine was missing the chain master link, but easily repaired also all the bearing blocks where loose. It meters well with larger seed, depth is easily controlled in a properly prepared seed bed. If you want a better unit plan on spending $15K, but for small properly prepared food plots this works great. I liked the fact I could plant beans and barassica at the same time. Worked as I expected once I got it going. It will not last forever, but should last at least 5 years for what I do.

Junk, crap!
This is the biggest piece of crap ever made!!! Every bolt was loose. It will not work at all as a drill to overseed a yard or pasture the coulter disc will not go into the ground at all. It will work well if the ground is tilled up. The springs on the back roller are way too strong will not let counters go into ground so I had to weld spikes onto the roller just so this thin would work at all. Unless you have a lot of tools and mechinal knowledge this is junk. Very disappointed.

It is bigger than I expected
Just barely got it on my car trailer! It fits perfectly on my JD1023e! May give another review after we get the chance to test it out! Right now we are super excited about our purchase!

Great value
Unique implement and just what we were looking for to planta few acres of corn, beans, sunflowers and seed a pasture on our small farm. It took about an hour of adjusting before use. Don't recommend if you aren't mechanically experienced because it isn't perfectly ready to go out of the crate. All sorts of seeding scenarios are possible if you get creative with which seed cups you fill. The plants have started growing and spacing looks pretty even, especially considering it was our first use. Definitely recommended for the price and multi crop ability!

If you bought a seeder and expected it to function as a drill you are an idiot, this seeder is built for delivering seed to a prepared bed. The owner's manual is pretty clear. I bought this with no illusions as to its quality and function. It's built for light use. I replaced the cheap corrugated seed tubes with clear vinyl. Every nut an bolt was tight, it arrives in a steel crate, upside down and over 500-lbs. you'll need some equipment to get it unloaded and flipped upright. I like the ability to shut off seed tubes as wanted. Hardware is not stainless, think twice before loading one of the bins with fertilizer. My soil is clean sandy loam, I don't think this would last long in Rocky soil.
