Q: What is the diameter of the top of the mic?

The two diameters are about 12mm and 19mm. The microphone comes with a clip and a small tripod stand as shown. The clip grips the thicker part, and has threading and an adaptor for two different stand sizes; 3/8" and 5/8".

Yes. It has a standard 5/8" thread

Q: What size usb ends does the cable have. Are they both normal usb or is one the smaller type?

The cable is a standard USB into your computer and a mini (not micro) USB into the microphone. My standard kit came with the necessary cable.

Q: I know this is not the primary function, but could this be used for video calls so I get more use out of it?

I have used it for Skype, Zoom and Teams calls on my Mac without issue. I have found It is particularly good for when there is more than one talker in the room.
